How To View Vegetative Index Information on FarmCloud via Satellite Imagery?

Want to see vegetation metrics like NDVI or EVI for your farm using satellite data? Here’s how to access them in FarmCloud.

Viewing Vegetative Index Data

  1. Open the dashboard menu and select Weather & Satellite.

  2. You’ll land on a Google Map page with a list of your farm boundaries below.

  3. Click the name of the boundary you want to review.

  4. On the boundary details page, you’ll see the map image of that boundary.

  5. Click Satellite Data below the map to reveal the Vegetation Indices section.

  6. Use the dropdown to view indices such as NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), EVI (Enhanced Vegetation Index), EVI2 (Two-Band EVI), NRI (Nitrogen Reflectance Index), DSWI (Drought Stress Vegetation Index), and NDWI (Normalized Difference Water Index).

  7. Data is presented as Max, Mean, Median, Min, Deviation, and Actual Number.

  8. Click any graph to view the Historical Specific Data Indices—orange lines show max levels, yellow lines show min, and blue lines show mean.
